I am crazy excited for this...the only thing I owuld be more excited for would be a new album :D ...This looks great though...I haven't been back to the site in ages and it was great to see this on the homepage.

I have a bunch of the songs that will be in the boxset but I would defintely snap it up as soon as it was out there....

When will a tracklisting be posted?

Any hints as to what's going to be on it? So many songs listed in the thread... But what will make it to the box & when will we know?

We are unlikely to know the answers to any of these questions ourselves until moments before The Last Minute, which occurs in late July.

A lot has already been said about the boxed set. There has been a lot of speculation ( radio versions ) and some of the usual suspects ( NW3, Donegal Express ).

But I wonder: Will there be real surprises? Things nobody would ever had expected such as a cover of ABBA's "Knowing me, knowing you" or experiments with Balinese Gamelan Music?

Good point although I don´t expect an Abba cover to be included in the box. Would be great with a spoiler Mr C. Something unknown that has not been mentioned before.....please

anything I can do?

Post Mon Apr 30, 2007 11:30 am

As a few of you might know (not too many since I don't post as often as I'd like) I'm in the US Navy out of Japan.

If anyone (including you Mr. C) has tracked anything down in Japan or would like help looking for something from out here, I can pull my available resources together from around Japan and help it get to you. I assure you that anything you want me to pick up (including even the most EXTREME of rarities) will make there way to you if I am able to find them. I am a very honest person (reagardless of my status as a member of the US military  )

All joking aside, feel free to drop me a line. I am stationed in a little place called Sasebo on the island of Kyushu at the very bottom of mainland Japan. I have some friends near Tokyo, and I visit Okinawa frequently.

Other than that, I can not wait for this box set. I've been a pretty decent fan for a few years, a big fan since a saw you perform in Dublin in 2005, and a HUGE fan since I got kicked out of your first show in Vegas in October '06 (before you all even took the stage)! I'm addicted my friends - absolutely addicted.
Lend me ten pounds, I'll buy you a drink.

Are you the guy who threw the beer bottle from the floor up to the balcony? Or was that the 2nd Vegas show I saw that happen? My memory has begun to fail me in my old age...

Funny you should bring that up...

It was that first night when that happened but I'm not that guy. I'm the guy that HE took it from (it was actually an empty can of Guinness) and then proceeded to throw into the balcony.

Him: "Hey are you finished with that?"
Me: "Yeah."
Him: "Let me see it. [takes can] You like the fuckin Pogues man?"
Me: "Fuck yeah dude."
Him: "This is for you! [throws can]"

Why it was "for me" I'll never know. I would also like to add that I knew nothing about his intentions. He wanted to see the empty can and I had no further use for it... I was in a very bad state that night and couldn't fully comprehend what was happening until security escorted the guy away.

Just shortly after that I stumbled to the restroom and, I'm guessing because security thought I had something to do with it, told me I had to leave the venue.

My ex, who was with me on the trip (that is to say she was taking care of me on the trip), stayed for the rest of the show (and was even invited to the bands balcony area) as I walked back the mile and a half to our motel room, and then ended up needing me to go back and find her because she was no better off than I was and had gotten lost in some empty mall next to the HOB after having herself wondered around the streets by the highway.

I was able to catch the next nights show with my parents who were nice enough to fly out to catch their first Pogues' show. It was a wonderful night (the second one, not so much the first...) and made for an incredibly interesting trip. Many a story came out of those few days...

Do you know if anyone was hurt?
