i have a recording of myself sitting in the bath tub singing 'kitty' accompanying myself by banging on an upturned garbage bin with a spatula, along with harmonica. unfortunately, no pogues were involved in this recording, but there is at least video footage.

is this of any interest mr. chevron, or should we perhaps leave it until a later DVD release?

She's laughing in her sleeve at me,
I can feel it in my bones

PHILIP, JUST WONDERING IF SOME OF THE RECORDINGS THE POGUES DID WITH JOE STRUMMER (when he stood in as lead singer in 91) WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE BOX SET? TRYING TO GET MY HANDS ON 'STRAIGHT TO HELL' AND 'I FOUGHT THE LAW' BUT CANT GET THEM ANYWHERE.
P.S THE POGUES SHOW IN DUBLIN CHRISTMAS 06 WAS PHENOMONAL.

Apart from on Bootlegs, none of the Pogues with Joe material has ever surfaced, except a couple of live tracks which appeared in the double-digipak of the "Tuesday Morning" single. There does exist a well-recorded live album from 1991, but we have no plans to mix it and release it at the moment. I hope some of the Hell's Ditch offcuts (produced by Joe) will make it to the Box.

Play.com have the soundtrack for Straight to Hell, I'm waiting for my copy right now, though it doesn't include the actual song.

I've got a great version of "The Limerick Rake". Not sure quite how rare it is. I know I haven't seen it around too often. Thought it might be useful?

P.S. - Apparently I've "exceeded the number of registration attempts" because I typed in the wrong code once. If you'd actually need this Phil, please e-mail me @ DirtyAuldTown@aol.com

Also, excellent two shows in Chicago, undoubtedly the best performances I've ever seen by anyone, hands down! Cheers!

Whoops, forgot it was released again on the new version of Peace and Love. My fault! Ummm, I have an odd version of the "Wild Rover" with what sounds like a German or French man singing the first verse and Shane singing the second verse and the both of them singing the third verse. And also extremely good versions of "The Irish Ways", and "Danny Boy" Cheers all the same!

Is that the version with Soldat Louis and Sinead O'Connor? I've been looking for that on CD or vinyl for years now, can't find it.

While that's Shane with them, I don't know if any of the other Pogues play on this one.

As I´ve never heard any song from Soldat Louis - what kind of music could I expect if I bought the CD ?

If you go to the Amazon France site and type in Soldat Louis, it will bring up the albums. Most of them have soundbites available. Sounds to me like a mix of Breton and Irish music, so I gambled on enjoying it. :)
