Misty Morning, Albert Bridge

What is the purpose of this song... am I right when I say that Albert Bridge is in London?

Jem Finer: "The first draft of it I wrote in some dump in New Zealand when I was feeling particularly lonely, like I was at the end of the earth. I woke up and I wrote a poem which became the basis for the lyrics of the song. It's just the poem rewritten so you can sing the song. (...) Marcia [Jem's wife] grew up living next to that bridge. I can remember one of our early dates, walking very early in the morning past it. I guess that's something that stuck in my mind." (from Carol Clerk's "Pogue Mahone: The Story Of the Pogues")

I cannot remember to have actually been to Albert Bridge but a misty morning in London is something else. :)

I have nothing to add other than the fact that this is one of my all-time favorite Pogues songs. Absolutely gorgeous.
