What instrument? If it isn´t some known tune, when I get to whistle/guitar, I´ll post how to play it (If I manage to do so), I think I played it occasionally.

If you can read music, maybe I can do it as MIDI.

But I think the outro is inspired somewhere - it´d be be great if someone from the band could say whether tis true or not.

So...I haven´t figured it out whole, but most of it yes. What I write is in D, but Pogues version is C (but I don´t know how holes on C whistle are called and my MIDI studio doesn´t work too well right now - basically, on accordion, if it is like piano, you will play, at least I think, the same what I wrote, but one bar lower).
X is basic, X* means higher octave.
A-A-A-Fis-A-H-H-H-D*-H-A-A-A-D*-E*-Fis*-E*-D-E*-D*-H-A-A-A-Fis-A-H-H-H-D*-H...and I couldn´t do the rest (as it gets down and I think it ends with D) - hope I helped at least a bit - and with accordion, you might figure out the rest (if you do, sure post it - I´d love to know it complete.

Well, that can be a problem - because on many occasions, I found out that other letter is used instead of H in some regions :-) ...On tin whistle, H is played by holding top hole, on piano, it is that key between A and C - on guitar, it is second highest string (high in means of sound, not position).

i just learned that myself
in german music theory the H is common
Schoenberg uses the H to make reference to some famous composer
(cant remember who) in one of his works (cant remember which)
The girl cried out a few times and the old man slept with his mouth wide open and his bad teeth showing.
