true, everyone has a different take. i love rainbow man, wake of the medusa, 6 to go... but i can't STAND summer in siam, which seems to be popular with many pogues fans, casual & die-hard. even warranted a video. so if i'd been in charge of track-listing that album, i might be happier with it, but maybe it woulda stunk to most everybody else.

According to the new book, both Pinned Down and Curse Of Love were dropped in favour of Six To Go.

Yes it does say that, but I'm not sure that's precisely true.

...And I bought "Summer In Siam", "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah" and the original "FONY", all on 7", for 65p the lot!!

On the other subject, I also love Ghost Of A Smile and especially Rainbow Man, which I think is the highlight of Hell's Ditch. As for Summer In Siam... well it's not bad, but I wouldn't count it as a favourite by a long chalk.

I always find it fascinating that there's such a wide spectrum of opinion on this board when it comes to favourite/least favourite songs. People on the whole seem to dislike Rainbow Man but I personally think it's a cracker. All down to opinion I suppose. Interesting though.

Noone seems to like Blue Heaven, yet it makes me so happy to listen to. Walking in the rain with that blasting through the headphones when i am skipping outta work is about the best thing ever.

Yes...Blue Heaven's underrated. How can you not at LEAST enjoy that trombone solo. And spider has a great whistle part on that one.

I made up my mind years ago that Blue Heaven was my least favourite. But I have to admit, when it comes on I cannot help but sing along, and it definately has an uplifting effect. Maybe that's it's charm?

But I definately do not like it.

Or do I?

No, definately not.

But then.....

...No!!!....

Oh just stop it, this is hurting my head!

Little kids are rarely wrong in their musical taste. Ours were brought up on the Pogues since they were this high...

Ok, they had a bit of confusion over some of the lyrics, but they loved it.

I'm telling my 3 year old daughter that Shane and his mates broke that mans lucky balls because the beach's bar steward was sore! It is confusing her, but I don't think other parents may be very understanding if she starts teaching their kids all these fantastic words from Daddy's music.
