Not necessarily. There are many legal ways to watch videos and listen to music on the Internet. This person didn't actually specify an illegal source - just a source of any kind.

Regarding illegal trading - I really don't mind if people discuss what exists. I draw the line at requesting, offering, and generally making arrangements for swapping. There a numerous ways those arrangements can be made without putting me or this web site at risk of a "Cease And Decist" letter followed by a "See you in court" letter.

I heard that this song has a fairly interesting subject matter, and most of us )including myself I fear) are missing the whole meaning of this tune. Anyone feel like clarifying this?

Shane's clarification isn't enough?

And he tells him about the ship he had out there and how he got out and came back and this girl had fucked off with someone else, a girl with a pair of brown eyes. Which is the same situation as the young guy sitting there listening to all this rubbish and the juke box playing Johnny Cash and Ray Lyman and Philomena Begley, classic London juke box tracks. And in the end he gets to the stage where he says fuck it, and he goes stumbling out of the pub and he walks along the canal and starts feeling really bad, on the verge of tears, and he starts realising that the old guy has had a whole fucking lifetime of that feeling, going through the war and everything, but his original reaction is to hate him and despise him. I'm not saying he goes back and starts talking to him but you know... "

A friend of mine says she met Shane at a festival in Ireland years ago. He told her that the " pair of brown eyes" referred to in the song are about the guy's dog. That it's about a drunken old guy reminiscing about walking his dog back home in Ireland in the " rolling hills where HIS brown eyes were waiting..and I thought about a pair of brown eyes, that waited once for me ". The HIS brown eyes always threw me but this makes perfect sense to me. Probably bollocks but it's how I hear the song now.
