i searched out and found all the week they were released!!! i just happened to be on that side of the world when they came out!

but really--why is music so much more expensive over there???

do you have All the re-issues? I have the Japanese ones (white label - promo copy - sorry again just bragging).. I also have the UK ones and quietly wait for the North American ones..
the UK ones were about 14 US here in Japan.. the Japanese ones were free as I was a dj on the nite of release.. :D
As for different prices.. well who knows.. Mr. C??

Prices have levelled off a bit in recent times. New full price CDs are about a tenner, while the Pogues remasters are about seven pounds or so, though you see them in the bigger shops for a fiver. It's like anything else - I can pay $12 for "The Drowsy Chaperone" in Virgin Times Square or I can pay almost double that in The Colony.

Bear in mind too that the dollar is very weak at the moment. But I never quite understand why imports in the US cost up to $25. All that said, I did a bit of research on amazon.com last night and discovered you can buy Waiting For Herb and Pogue Mahone in the US for just under $5 the pair. Yes, the remastered versions.

Not just a pretty face

One could look at the cover of this album and dismiss the Pogues as yet another super cute boy band that the chicks would go nuts nuts for. Unlike N'Sync and New Kids, these guys can play their instruments really good. They don't dance near as well as the backsteet boys, but I don't think they care. They would literally beat the poop out of the other boy bands. Their music reminds me of my trips to Ireland for Ultimate Fighting tournaments. I would spend the day at the pub, kicking back Harp after Harp until my manager Seamus McCoy would tell me I needed to get to the arena for my match. I would walk in and Shaymus would point where I needed to go and I would walk up and when the referee said go I unleashed a barrage of shiverwoks, Knockfacers and Blittycrushes. I usually had a submission in under 20 seconds because I was like a tornado of punishment. The Pogues are the ultimate dichotomy, a boy band with angry music. Don't let their teen beat cover looks fool you, this band can play. Go get it or you will fall even further back in your hopeless race to be like me.

My God! They're right!

There's the cute one.

There's the bad boy.

There's the ... umm ... one that dances and stuff.

How did we never see it before?

I think that this might have to end up on the front page of our Medusa.

I WAS laughing WITH you Sensei, not AT you... Please don't cut off my finger. I promise to be very, very, very good from now on... I was mainly chuckling at the sheer chutzpah of the meshuggenah Unreal Fighting Tournament psycho thingy.... Sorry.

So, James is the cute one (IMHO), Spider is the bad boy, ....I thought Philip was the dancing one, but he apparently wants to be known as the gay one, so someone else must be the dancer, unless he can be both. And who are the others?
