They were bonus tracks on the original CD - clumsily inserted, in my opinion - but were not on the vinyl album which was still, in 1988, the principal format. On the remasters, they are positioned where they always should have been - at the end, when the album proper finishes. Something similar happens with "A Pistol For Paddy Garcia" on RS&TL. By Peace and Love, CDs had become the principal format, or at least equal with vinyl. In any event, apart from the opportunity to tidy up the running order on Fall From Grace, we certainly did not wish to presume that everyone who'd bought the vinyl album in 1988 had already replaced it with the CD version by 2004. As Medusa well illustrates, vinyl (and shellac) are still very much living formats.

One could look at the cover of this album and dismiss the Pogues as yet another super cute boy band that the chicks would go nuts nuts for. Unlike N'Sync and New Kids, these guys can play their instruments really good. They don't dance near as well as the backsteet boys, but I don't think they care. They would literally beat the poop out of the other boy bands. Their music reminds me of my trips to Ireland for Ultimate Fighting tournaments. I would spend the day at the pub, kicking back Harp after Harp until my manager Seamus McCoy would tell me I needed to get to the arena for my match. I would walk in and Shaymus would point where I needed to go and I would walk up and when the referee said go I unleashed a barrage of shiverwoks, Knockfacers and Blittycrushes. I usually had a submission in under 20 seconds because I was like a tornado of punishment. The Pogues are the ultimate dichotomy, a boy band with angry music. Don't let their teen beat cover looks fool you, this band can play. Go get it or you will fall even further back in your hopeless race to be like me.
I think I know that guy, in an on-line, from a distance kind of way. Here's his recent blog as further evidence. http://paroleblazers.blogspot.com He knows me as EnglandDan and of my love of the Pogues.
I've tried to talk Andrew into bringing this track back to the live set. Unfortunately I think he thinks I'm being mean-spirited.capo2nd wrote:The glory 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God' has lies partly in the finish the original album has, which is Worms.

thanks
