Is it possible to get the version of TaS where Mr. Chevron sings it? I've heard the live recordings from Pogues-shows where he sings it, and it sounds fantastic, and I'd love to hear it on a studio recording. Any place to buy it or download it?

Thanks

Mr C, do you get more money if people buy your solo version of Thousands Are Sailing than a Pogues record featuring 1000s? Or does it simply depend on the songwriting credit which would be the same with both versions?

How much money do you make of one song on a various artists compilation anyways? I have no problem giving you my money, (hell I bought all 7 pogues reissues the first day I saw them... (at import prices :P) even bought them from the evil Tower records! but I am curious... did not mean to offend you. Just have a curious ear.

I just got the cd a few days ago. I can recomend buying it. Thousands are sailing is worth it alone. The other tracks on it is also good!

I do agree that it is one of their best songs. Really, though, I can only think of a few of their songs I don't like, and I even like them, just not as much as others.
