did the pogues ever record a version of body of an american without the horn solo but with the quality guns of naverone solo. i always recognised but never knew from where till i saw the skatalites doing a version at glastonbury on tv.

Before the Skatalites? I really don't think so, maybe, but The Skatalites were a huge influence on the Specials and I'm almost positive they did it first. Not 100%.

I have the Tougher than Tough Box set of Jamaican Music and the Skatellites version of Guns is on it from either the 50's or the 60's. I think the 50's. But definately not before the 70's.
