One thing that initially turned me off of this album, but now makes me dig it, was that about half the songs have multi lead vocals, they sound like two or more people are singing, (which they probably are) and it gives the songs a unique sound. Cottonfields, Blue Heaven, Down all The Days, USA, Lorelai, Night Train To Lorca, Train of Love... these all have multi lead vocals, whereas every other pogues album pretty much just has one lead track, possibly switching off between two vocalists (like Waxie's Dargle, FONY) or multi lead vocals during the chorus, but not all through the song like those listed above... I wonder if the Pogues were trying something new or if it's just a coincidence that so many songs were done this way for this album.
