Drip in the bed

Post Wed Apr 05, 2006 2:47 am

ive always assumed this meant
something to do with sleeping around

what does it actually mean?
and ive looked for the origins of the phrase
and cant find it
does anyone know that?
The girl cried out a few times and the old man slept with his mouth wide open and his bad teeth showing.

:) I'd assume it refers to lying in a bed with a 'drip' in one's arm. A 'drip' being hospital/nurse jargon for a catheter tube connected to a bag or bottle containing some manner of solution (7%, MacRua?) or blood or medication; which then 'drip'-feeds down the catheter into one's bloodstream. Hope this helps. :)
Nurse, fetch me another bottle of Old Toad Linament and my stirrups QUICKLY! *mmooooooaaaannn*
