I've got the album. It was a charity release organised by Ron Kavana. There are various Pogues on various tracks and most play on one track, Irish Ways, if I recall rightly. It's not the Irish Ways that Christy Moore/Moving Hearts did.

It is not an essential purchase, if you know what I mean.

I like it very much as I like all the other work of Ron Kavana.

When was this album recorded, was Cait still in the band. I have several tracks from the album, Irish Ways, Johnny, For the Children, and Calling Me Home Again. I was just wondering was this a project that Ron Kavana orchestrated, and as before when was this album recorded

I remember doing my duet with Mary Coughlan in March 1988 in London. I have an idea Terry and Shane did their parts around the same time. No other Pogues appear on the album.

Your duet on For the Children was beautiful Mr. Chevron, one of my favorites songs to listen to. However, I was under the impression that Spider sang backing vocals with Terry Woods on Johnny.

If that's so, I stand corrected.

I find it curious that with so few of The Pogues appearing on the disc that the original silkscreen on the disc itself was:

THE POGUES: IRISH WAYS

and then a small strip of sticker was placed over the this with the proper name.

Any kind of story there?

Isn't James also credited with accustic guitar on Irish Ways?

I'm sure there is - I have a vague memory of record company opportunism being a factor. The sticker was a compromise - we wanted the pressing destroyed.
