Future recording?

Post Thu Mar 23, 2006 2:06 am

Seeing as how tight the band was during this tour and the connection between the band and audience is there a chance of any new Pogues music in the future? From what I saw in NYC it would be a shame if we never got to hear some new material (strictly from a selfish point of view).

The Pogues have publicly said many things on this:

"Not interested."
"Never say never."
"Not that I know of."
"Who knows what the future holds?"

Interpret as you will. At this moment there are no announced plans.
“I know all those people that were in the film [...] But that’s when they were young and strong and full of life, you know?”

I feel like there is currently a resurgence of interest in the Pogues' music, and Irish music in general. I attribute this to the growing popularity of bands such as Flogging Molly, DKM, and the Tossers. Personally, I would be quite disappointed if the Pogues did not record any new material considering that the time is especially right to do so. Plus, WE WANT IT!!! (Just my thoughts.)

'Puppy-dog eyes' often work wonders... too bad the US tour is already over, otherwise we could've exposed the band to our pleading eyes :)

I think we're all thankful for the music we've been given and the recent tours, realizing that everyone has their own projects it just seems the like the time is right for some new stuff.
