What is your favorite remastered Pogues album

Post Wed Mar 22, 2006 8:15 pm

All the Pogues albums were released with bonus tracks in 2004, I'm just wondering which one is your favorite

Red Roses For Me

1. The Leaving of Liverpool
2. Muirshin Durkin
3. Repeal of the Licensing Laws
4. And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda
5. Whiskey You're the Devil
6. The Wild Rover

Rum, Sodomy and the Lash

1. London Girl
2. A Rainy Night In Soho
3. The Body of an American
4. Planxty Noel Hill
5. The Parting Glass

If I Should Fall From Grace With God

1. The Battle March Medley
3. The Irish Rover
4. The Rare Old Mountain Dew
5. Shanne Bradley
6. Sketches of Spain
7. South Australia

Peace and Love

1. The Star of the County Down
2. The Limerick Rake
3. Train of Love
4. Everyman Is a King
5. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
6. Honky Tonk Women

Hell's Ditch

1. Whiskey In the Jar
2. The Bastard Landlord
3. Infinity
4. Curse of Love
5. Squid Out of Water
6. Jack's Heroes
7. A Rainy Night In Soho

Waiting For Herb

1. First Day of Forever
2. Train Kept Rolling On
3. Paris St. Germaine

Pogue Mahone

1. Eyes of an Angel
2. Love You Till the End (Stephen Hague remix)

My favorites have to be of course the first three, but Peace and Love had some great bonus cuts (The Limerick Rake, Everyman Is A King), and Hell's Ditch has Jack's Heroes. Even Waiting For Herb's Paris St. Germaine was great. So what is your opinion

Red Roses For Me and I.I.S.F.F.G.W.G

Red Roses bonuses:
An Eric Bogle favourite and Whiskey Yer The Divil? Crivens, laddy!

I.I.S.F.F.G.W.G bonuses:
Irish Rover and South Australia? Two of me favourite shaggy dog/tale tale/avast me hearties/ kinda songs of all times. Arrr!

Red Roses- I love Muirchin Durkin, Whiskey You're The Devil and The Leaving Of Liverpool and had been hoping they would eventually come out on CD for years.
Most of the other albums' extra tracks I already had on CD from the single releases.

I'd have to say either Red Roses For Me, or Peace & Love.

I didn't bother buying any of them, as I have them all on record and CD anyway (except Pogue Mahone which I only have on CD). Thought I'd wait until the bonus tracks come out on a CD of their own.

well then it looks like your out of luck in ever owning them on cd... as i doubt they will ever be on a non bootleg cd set of thier own... then again, with how the record company keeps milking the pogues back catalog, who knows :)

Hmmm.... Well, Red Roses has most of my favorite bonus tracks, but RS&L is a very close second. I didn't have the 'Poguetry in Motion' EP, so all the RS&L bonus tracks were new additions for me.

P&L for me, too. I think it was played in Wembley '88.

I remember that gig well. My first Pogues concert and so many rare tracks played. I think I would be correct in saying it was that night I heard NW3, Japan and Train Of Love for the 1st time.
