I saw them live about a year ago and know what you mean. It struck me that they were very much a part of Ireland's past, but hopefully not it's future. I much prefer bands like The Dubliners who sing some songs remembering our past, but don't spend a whole show going on and on about nothing but the Troubles. In my opinion, bands like The Dubliners unite people, whilst The Wolfe Tones divide them.

Well said, as a lad brought up in england with an irish mother i felt unwelcome at the Tones gig, not so at the Dubliners gig - they are different class, dont know the clancy brothers stuff Paddy R C , can you suggest an album i should get to start me off ?

The Wolfe Tones are entirely lacking in grace, class.

We recorded a version of this a couple of years ago. Nice tune. Been playing it for almost ten years now.
