Obviously things get all switched up when this is played live but what was the line up on the original recording?

Same as onstage: Jem (guitar) Andrew (Vcls) Shane (B. Vcls) Spider (whistle) Darryl (drums) Philip (bass) James (accordion) Terry (cittern). It's the only track we ever recorded in the US - at the Hit Factory in New York. Billy Joel was in the next studio, he said Hi. 8)

You know, I love the fact that Mr. C comes on here and gives us all this great info - fair play to yer Phil! So I'm guessing "County Down" was recorded July 89?

for my money the best version is the one with van morrison and the chieftans :lol:

It's one of the few songs where The Pogues version isn't my favourite- I agree with seamus_mcshanty1.
