Instrumental?

Post Thu Mar 02, 2006 6:38 pm

Hi, I was hoping someone here would be kind enough to help me.

My girlfriend has a song in her head, which she believes is a Pogues song. The song is instrumental, so we can't search for the lyrics. If anybody here knows the name of any instrumental Pogues tracks, my girlfriend & I would be very greatful.

With thanks,

The Half Boy

I am said girlfriend!! Erm..yeah...it has a really fast bit followed by a really dreary bit...and then the happy jolly bit comes in again. And it has brass... I'm sure they use it on Virgin radio for when someone wins a prize.

I've been trying to find the name of it for ages now and because it's so vague, I haven't had much luck!

Anyway, if you can help at all, I will be exceeeedingly grateful :)

I find that when people ask "What is that Pogues instrumental that goes.................." they usually do mean Fiesta. And yes, I know it does have lyrics.

There was an instrumental I really liked that I could not identify for years. Turned out to be The Return Of The Las Palmas 7 by Madness.

Waiter!!

Great song. Reminds me a lot of the style of the Ska Flames (who were on the White Stage at Fuji Rock Festival a couple hours before you).

Don't forget the rest of the lyrics :-

"Hi there folks,I'd like you to meet the Tommy McGloin's combo"

and

"Goodnight"

Oh my God, I love you!!! Yes, it was Fiesta! I can now sleep safe in the knowledge that I know what the hell it is.

Thank you, thank you thank you. :D

For future reference - Fiesta is not an instrumental.

Just FYI there.
