well it got back into the charts this year on downloads alone so i'd guess at least 50,000 copies were downloaded this year in this country

I Know I've asked before but nobody seems able to divulge the info. I know it shouldn't matter how many copies it sold seen as its now officially recognised as the official best ever christmas song - and deservedly - but surely by now, after 3 re-releases and a re-entry into the chart on downloads, it must've sold nearly 1 million copies? it'd just be nice to know how close FoNY is to becoming one of the best selling singles of all time in thi country? anyone know roughly how many copies have been sold since its original release in 1987?

I suspect it's taken out of context of the overall post. My best attempt at a rough translation of the original post is:

He wants to know how much money Shane makes from 'Fiarytale.' Composers get a lot of royalties on popular songs. He saw a program where someone else made a lot of money on their song - around £40,000 per year. And Shane is a big jerk for not buying a round for everyone at the Glasgow gigs in light of the huge amount of filthy lucre he's now got.

"Fairytale" is represented on the Box Set by substantial extracts from all three of its demos.

Do you mean that one track on the box set will include parts of all three demos?

Does that mean it has the original Phil Spector "Wall of Sound" production?

We easily beat Spector in a shoot-out. After that, his producing us was out of the question.
