Always a pleasure!
More bootlegs:
THE SESSION, RTE, 7th JUNE 1987
Streams Of Whiskey/ The Balinalee/ If I Should Fall.../ I Fought The Law (with Joe Strummer)/ London Calling (with Joe Strummer)/ Lullaby Of London/ South Australia/ Repeal Of The Licensing Laws/ Turkish song Of The Damned/ The Irish Rover (with The Dubliners)
Irish TV broadcast available as a bootleg on both audio and video. Also features four songs performed by The Dubliners without The Pogues.
HAMMERSMITH PALAIS, 17th MARCH 1986.
A Pistol For Paddy Garcia/ The Sick Bed Of Cuchulainn/ Streams Of Whiskey/ Billy's Bones/ Repeal Of The Licensing Laws/ Transmetropolitan/ A Pair Of Brown Eyes/ Dirty Old Town/ Wild Cats Of Kilkenny/ London Girl/ Sally MacLennane/ Jesse James/ I'm A Man You Don't Meet Every Day/ Dingle Regatta/ The Body Of An American/ Poor Paddy/ Waxie's Dargle/ Greenland Whale Fisheries/ The Old Main Drag/ Wild Rover/ The Parting Glass/ Kitty/ Dark Streets Of London/ The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
A great St Patrick's day gig which features a fantastic version of Wild Cats Of Kilkenny. One of my big regrets is never having heard this played at a Pogues gig; it sounds much better than the studio version. Some of the songs are erroneously left off the track listing on the sleeve; above is my corrected track listing.
DERBY ASSEMBLY ROOMS, 25th OCTOBER 1990.
Streams Of Whiskey/ If I Should Fall From Grace With God/ Cotton Fields/ Young Ned Of The Hill/ Rain Street/ Sayonara/ A Rainy Night In Soho/ Sunnyside Of The Street/ Repeal Of The Licensing Laws/ The Broad Majestic Shannon/ The Body Of An American/ Gartloney Rats/ The Ghost Of A Smile/ Summer In Siam/ Thousands Are Sailing/ Bottle Of Smoke/ Dirty Old Town/ The Sick Bed Of Cuchulainn/ Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah- The Beat Goes On/ The Star Of The County Down/ A Pair Of Brown Eyes/ Sally MacLennane/ Boys From The County Hell/ The Irish Rover
As was common at that time Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah is an exteneded version featuring Darryl Hunt rapping in the middle of the song. This time his rap was The Beat Goes On. N.B. I remember seeing a couple of other Pogues gigs in the same tour when he was rapping a George Michael song (Careless Whisper?).
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE, 15th APRIL 1988
Fiesta/ Streets Of Sorrow- The Birmingham Six
This has been bootlegged on both audio and video formats. English TV show which was broadcast live and presented by Ben Elton. Each week the show featured a mixture of comedy acts and bands. This broadcast caused much controversy when The Birmingham Six was cut mid song. The editors cut to a commercial break before the last verse could be broadcast. In the TV show Points Of View the following week, the makers denied censorship and claimed that the show was overrunning. However, the song was banned by The Independent Broadcasting Authority shortly afterwards, effectively banning it from television. The ban was finally lifted when the Birmingaham Six were released form prison.

The sleeve states that this CD is Limited edition of 250. Some of the tracks on this CD have appeared on other bootlegs under the name "The Falconer Demos". The last three tracks are the same as those released as B sides on the two Tuesday Morning CD singles, but the versions here appear louder and actually sound better than those officially released.

The versions of London Girl and Turkish Song Of The Damned on this release are exclusive to this album and not the same as those released previously. Phil Chevron has commented on the Medusa forum that London Girl was an early mix of the song included in error by the record company.
