Fairytale DVD

I tried to play my Fairytale DVD today, and a message came on the player saying "Error - Not NTSC." Is this due to some difference between European and American systems? (I'm in the US of A). Am I fucked, or is there a way around this? Thanks.

Check this out - the easiest way to get around it seems to be to buy a player that is compatible with PAL and NTSC - I have to to bite the bullet and do this as well - can be got for under $200.

Failing that, you can watch it on your computer, if you have that feature. At least the PAL discs work on mine.

You can get them from amazon.com and target as well.

Get one- then you can get all the Pogues DVDs and not feel left out!!

You could also have someone reencode it on a computer and burn it onto a dvd in NTSC format. I think that the demo version of Nero7 http://www.ahead.de should be able to do this. Would be cheaper than buying an ew dvd player.

Only if you have a PC that is. Mac users (poor me) are left in the cold on this one as programs will only take the region code off but won't turn the frame rate of PAL into NTSC.

Or you can take it to a video transfer place and they will transfer from PAL to NTSC
