fun little throwaway song, a perfect closing to the heaviness of songs on the album that seem to come towards the end (birmingham six, sit down by the fire, broad majestic shannon.)
I like Andrews voice, but I understand why he didn't sing lead very often :)

What the fuck are you talking about, his rendition of "The Star of the County Down," was quite good in my book.

the song is perfect. if it was the first tune on the record it would be different. bands and artists do things like that all the time - and i love it when they do. perfect ending to the album.

Have to agree it is a perfect ending to a perfect lp.
Was also a great live song , stage lights low while Andrew creps onto stage to give Tom Waits a run for his money. Dark , humorous and disgusting.

Its a song. It has an interest style about it. Its a throwback to days gone by. I want to know more about it. Anyone have any interesting facts/ideas about Worms. Notice, I am not asking if you like it.

my mom said she sang a less grotesque version
as a school girl

when i see her next i'll ask her for her version of the lyrics
i remember the result beign the same
(the corpse rotting etc)
The girl cried out a few times and the old man slept with his mouth wide open and his bad teeth showing.

Yeah, it was something we sang as kids...but then my cousins and I also sang "scab sandwiches". we were a rowdy lot.
