Train Of Love

Who does the vocals on this wonderful song? It almost sounds like the whole band is singing together, but I have never been able to identify the vocalists!!! Anyone know? Also Who sang Me and Bobby McGee at the 100 club?

Jem sings lead vocals on Train of Love (backing by Phil, Darryl and Shane I'd say) and Bobby McGee.

I think Mr C once told me that it was Jem and him (an octave higher) on Train of Love.

I'm pretty sure it's as Eyeball Kid says. Especially if I told Eyeball so myself.

Train Of Love

Was just listening to "Train Of Love (Bonus Track)" on the "Peace and Love" Reissue and have realised that it is the only Pogues track that I just can not work out who is singing the lead vocals. Somebody help us out please.

Cheers

You've got me listening to it now, one of the voices I'm sure is Terry's not too sure of the other and I'm usually good on who's singing what in The Pogues.

Would need to check the recording to be exact about all the voices, but I do know it's sung by Jem with me on the high harmonies. Possibly Andrew is in there somewhere too.

Incidentally, mute film of us performing this song at a soundcheck at Wembley Arena was used to accompany the item about the Independent Broadcasting Authority on one of the network news programmes later that evening.

Thanks for this I must get out of the habit of asking questions that appear to already have been asked and sorted at least two years ago!I feel at least not totally stupid in that it was Jem because from what I can work out there are not any other or very few tracks where he takes the lead on vocals.

..........which is exactly what made his appearance at centre mic on the Evening News so noteworthy!

James, a former choirboy, has been known to sing with the Cranky George Trio.
