It's true, I spent long and grimy hours at the seam, but accompanied pretty much all of the time by Jem. It was he and I that swung the sledge often enough. But, well, after all, there wasn't a shortage of guys who could put their shoulders up against a loaded trolley and we never groped our way down a lightless chamber without that the canary went first.

damn, why arent there any Americans that can talk that way?

You would buy a recording of Pogues farts if they would record them, celticjunk.

Of course
Then they'll take you to Cloughprior and shove you in the ground. But you'll stick your head back out and shout "We'll have another round"

Brilliant.

And what about when Shane had gone? Did the same technique apply for Tuesday Morning, Drunken Boat, Pachinko and all the other songs I love?

Naah, Shane wrote all those on his own. He had more time on his hands by then
Last night as I slept I dreamt I met with Behan, I shook him by the hand as we passed the time of day.

on the shane bio he was all beered up and babbling about how he wrote every not of 'fairytale' except for a little rif by jem and here and there.

is this really how it went down? i wouldn't be surprised if jem wrote the whole fucking piano part.
