Who is the lady singing in this song? On the Rum, Sodomy & The Lash record.

Cait O'Riorden. She was the bass player for the band at this point (later replaced by Darryl Hunt after Cait left the band to marry Elvis Costello).

Thank you for the information. That is what I thought. So, what is the crap about her not being able to sing? She sings like a goddess in this one.

Sorry to break it to you guys, but that's because it isn't Cait on the Record but Sinead O'Conner?

Cait sang the song "I'm a Man You Don't Meet Everyday" on Rum, Sodomy & The Lash. She also sang "Haunted" on the Sid & Nancy soundtrack. Shane and Sinead O'Connor covered "Haunted" (as a duet) several years later. Some releases of The Snake have this track on it, and it was released as a single.

Oh, the reason I thought it was Sinead is that I had an mp3 some years ago saying it was the pogues featuering sinead o'conner. Believed it ever since, hehe.
Well if it's Cait im really impressed by her. I thought it was Sinead who had made an exeption and was not trying to impress people and using less voice filtering.
Then Cait sing much better then her!

Let me clear this one up, once and for all:
The singer on "I'm A Man You Don't Meet Every Day", and the correct spelling of her name, is Caitlin O' Riordan.

Now there's a typo you're allowed to make fun of me for.
