Fairytale odds

Post Wed Dec 07, 2005 4:58 pm

Just to say - I've been looking at all the main bookmakers sites (William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral, Paddy Power etc.) amd Pogues are actually really hotly tipped to do it! I reckon we could pull it off - on all the sites almost the pogues are 4th Favourite behind the obvious x factor, Nizlopi and Westlife - but only just. Come on everyone - pull your fingers out during 19th-24th December to get that truly magnificent song to number one - its the right thing to do.

its all well saying we're in the running but I haven't seen one piece of promotion about the single and every time when i mention it to someone they've no idea it was coming out.

I was slightly intoxicated in the bar last sunday and as the lovely lady and her drum banging husband finished their rendition of FONY I made my way to the mic and told the pub to buy the single - SEE I'M DOING MY BIT - What are you doing???

I told our audience last Saturday to buy the single. Just need to say that our 'audience' was mainly -16 and had never heard of the Pogues but they liked our cover version of 'that' Xmas song

I've been promoting it everywhere - its my msn name and will be until christmas, I've promoted it at my band's gigs - and I even posted a message on the x factor site saying -'don't buy the fecking x factor single - by fairytale of new york!'

incidentally, Apparently that chico guy can't release a single until january - yay!
