C'MON

LET'S MAKE EM REGRET PAYING EARLY

That’s My Goal, the debut single of X-Factor winner Shayne Ward has been on sale for less than 15 hours, yet bookmakers betdirect.co.uk, the sports betting division of Littlewoods, have given Shayne fans an early Christmas Present – by paying out on his single reaching number one this Sunday.

Charlie McCann, the PR director of betdirect.co.uk commented: “When the market was formed for this year’s Christmas number one, there was big doubt whether or not the single would be released in time for Christmas, early prices of 10/1 gave a true reflection of the chances of the X Factor gaining the number one position in time for Xmas. Betdirect.co.uk punters, however, followed their hearts and liabilities forced the price as low as 6/4 running up to the final weeks of X-Factor. With Shayne now trading as low as 1/100 for Christmas Success, we have decided to take the losses on the chin and get the money back to our customers in time for Christmas. We will, of course, honour all other bets if rumours about short supply are true and It’s My Goal doesn’t make it.”

Have there been any mid week chart updates?

Just went into Virgin in York and didn't see any FONY singles on the shelves, either sold out or not stocking them...didn't get chance to ask! Twats!

I couldn't get it on HMV, Woolies, or Music Zone. Managed to finally get it asda. Looks like a lot of places aren't stocking it.

In fairness to Warners, if the shop doesn't stock it, it ain't a chart panel shop. That's about the best that can be achieved in 6 days.

I see. Thanks Philip. It just seems a shame that you have to "hunt "the single down.Im sure it would sell more if it was there on the shelf .e.g.its an impulse buy\stocking filler .The more sales the more for the two funds.

That's correct of course. But the only sales that register in the chart returns are those from the chart panel shops, so naturally Warner Brothers try to concentrate sales into those shops, even at the risk of making life a bit inconvenient for the buyer. I don't say it's right, I only say it is.
