Pogues CD Box this Christmas? -Trilogy

Post Mon Nov 07, 2005 8:08 pm

At the Dutch online shop Bol.com searching for the Pogues I found this one: Trilogy, 3 CD's, available from december 7th.

Anyone got some information on what this could be?

This trilogy is a box with IISFFGWG, Rum, Sodomy & The Lash and Peace & Love.

Amazon.co.uk

Considering the tracklist it seems like Warner is getting rid of their stock of the old versions of the cds. No extra tracks on these cds.

Trilogy

Post Tue Nov 29, 2005 12:30 pm

Just found this, after I stumbled across an anounced boxed set called "Trilogy" on amazon.de:

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProd ... sku=444554

Obviously it's not the boxed set that I had hoped for

But nonetheless it might make a good christmas present.

But are these the remastered versions sans bonus tracks, or "just" the old cds in a box?

Is it? The original Bonus Tracks appear to be missing.

According to your answer you do not seem to know more about this thing than we do.

The ways of record companies are varied and mysterious. They don't always feel obliged to keep us informed.

Then they'll take you to Cloughprior and shove you in the ground. But you'll stick your head back out and shout "We'll have another round"

Although this is quite a nice collection, please be aware that it is also a means for Warners to offload and repackage their old obsolete stock of these 3 albums, as they have now been replaced by the remastered/extended versions in the catalogue. You can buy this box for less than a tenner, which is great value, but please know it is NOT the remastered versions of the albums.

I always wondered about the 'offiailality' :) of this set. This goes for a bunch of stuff that pops up on ebay all the time.

I'm constantly running in to new vinyl pressings of stuff, they say it is rare, and we've never seen it before, but all of a sudden, there's a hundred copies kicking around.

This goes for T-shirts and stuff on ebay too. Now, I can pretty much figure out on my own that most of, or all of the Pogues coffee mugs, and knoc-off Zippo lighters and key tags and this , that and the other are all garbage, and the Pogues get nothing from them...but what about a bunch of the T-shirts out there?

Quite a few years ago, I picked up one of the RS&tL T-shirts off ebay. It had the large (red) anchor logo artwork on it, and Rum Sodomy etc across the back of the shoulders. IMO, very good quality T-shirt, and very good artwork/silk screening. Is any of this stuff liscensed? Is anyone getting in deep shit over selling unliscensed stuff out there?
