I forgot this one:

We watched our friends grow up together
and we saw them as they fell
some of them fell into heaven
some of them fell into hell

In the National Stadium a few years ago, during Donegal Express, Shane changed the words to, "I never fucked your missus but I often fucked your daughter

And the old man with the money would flash you a smile
In the dark of an alley you'll work for a fiver
for a swift one of the wrist down on the old main drag

Somebody beat me to the punch.........my favorite Pogues lyric is from my favorite Pogues song "A Rainy Night in Soho";

We watched our friends grow up together
and we saw them as they fell
some of them fell into heaven
some of them fell into hell

I MC'ed a wedding a few years ago (the groom was a huge Pogues fan) and I did a slidewhow of he and the bride growing up and I had that song playing over the pics.

The Cadillac sat by the house and the Yanks they were within
And the tinker boys they hissed advice "hotwire her with a pin"
So we turned and shook as we had a look
In the room where the dead man lay . . .

(tempo change)

Fifteen minutes later we had our first taste of whiskey . . .

Fond memories of the Irish wakes of my childhood.

Come Hell of high water
I might have fucked your Missus
But I never fucked your daughter

Well for me there are to many too discuss them all but I'll mention a few of my favorites...

Funniest is "Billy saw a copper and hit him in the knee, took him down from 6ft to 5ft 3" and "had 'em on the run when he got them in the range of his submachine-gun".

Most Romantic "your the measure of my dreams" I tell my girlfriend that and she fals to bits.

The one that makes me most proud to be of Irish decent "To hell or Connaught may you burn in hell tonight"

Grossest "I've been shat on and spat on and raped and abused"

And the whole of "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" (I know its not pogues lyrics but I'm an aussie and it this cover stirs me almost to tears sometimes)
So be easy and free when your drinking with me..

The cheque for ten pouds is on the way Walshy. Mine's a Hoegarden!

I'm sure we've all done this before but it never loses its appeal.

Today, for me it would be:

The killer's hands are bound with chains
At six o'clock it starts to rain
He'll never see the dawn again
Our lady of the flowers

From the Classic 'Pair Of Brown Eyes (1985)

In blood and death 'neath a screaming sky
I lay down on the ground
And the arms and legs of other men
Were scattered all around
Some cursed, some prayed, some prayed then cursed
Then prayed and bled some more
And the only thing that I could see...
