Feel free to criticize whoever or whatever you like.
I just think that "moaning" about people who make stuff to sell for trying to sell it is a bit counterproductive.
I couldn't care less about the label.....but I would quite like Spider to be able to afford a new whistle if he needs one.

Well I don't really know what the difference between "criticising" and "moaning" is, but I do know what the difference between people selling their product for a reasonable return and ripping people off is. I understand perfectly I have the choice whether to buy it or not, nobody is forcing me to. Like many people on this forum I have spent a small fortune on the Pogues down the years, including buying many albums 3 or 4 times in different formats. I'm not objecting to spending money again, in fact in my first post on this subject I said I'd happily buy the live album if it was released separately. I just object to having to buy 7 other albums I already have in multiple form in order to get it. I don't think that's whinging, whining or moaning, I think it's making a legitimate point in a fairly measured way. I'm just surprised at the fact that I and others who share that view have been criticised so much, including by one of the moderators, and don't think it's in the spirit of similar previous discussions on this forum. I'll say no more on the subject.

Seems to me the pogues are are obviously trying to squeeze their sucker fans of a few bob for a last ditch pension top up. When I think back to the reunion concert in the point I never saw it goin this way. The Paris DVD would have been a perfect way to go. Fitting too. In my eyes its over after Phil passed.
Bleed em dry pogues, bleed em dry - Pog mo thoin!
To be fair, as has been stated, this is likely a decision made by The Brothers Warner, rather than the band itself (as are the decisions to constantly release different greatest hits compilations - although The Pogues did dictate the tracklisting on the last one, they had no say in whether or not there was going to BE one).
Bollocks. There's very few bands with so many compilations. They sold the lot. Sold every right to their music for easy money it seems. 10 compilation albums based largely on 3 out of 7 albums. Oh and if that doesn't convince ya, FONY - released ten times and counting. Nothing to do with the Pogues either I suppose. I hope warner and pogues loose big financially on this one then maybe that'll be it.

They've gone from legends to auld lads drowning the market with cheap best ofs cds and more farewell tours than the eagles. Only 3 made it to Phil Chevrons testimonial and only half to his funeral. They hardly sound like close mates in a band. Id say there sick of each other.![]()
