New website

Post Sun Oct 02, 2005 8:40 am

I have collected various tidbits from the Pogues universe, otherwise scattered randomly over the web and getting covered with dust, and piled them up at my site. Stories behind songs, albums and videos, borrowed music, fanfics and other odds and ends. Welcome to the Bower. :)

Great site, Zuzana -- lots of cool stuff there!

As for the quiz, I'm "Rainy Night In Soho," which I kind of suspected I was going to be based on the questions, but I can live with that -- it's a fantastic song.

You can always argue that you conscientiously work on your self development. What else is browsing Pogues related sites? ;)

Anyway, thanks to you all for your kind words! :) I hope to continue adding new stuff to the page. By the way, if you find any mistakes there, broken links or anything, or if you have any ideas for improvement or additions (to the stories, borrowed music etc.), I will be grateful!

Shane Macgowan and Streams of Whiskey for me.

Also, you have this listed:

Lullaby Of London

Shane MacGowan: "It's about anybody ... getting locked away without any real evidence. It goes on everywhere but it seems to be innocent Irish people who get done over here. Basically it's a prison song, about someone pacing round his cell or round the yard and wondering what the fuck it's all about. Like, your whole life's fucked because of a huge mistake or whatever ... It's a depressing song - it's not a song that I enjoyed writing or find much pleasure in singing..."

(from 1988 Tour Programme Biography, published at http://www.ktv.no/~oyl-ktv)

Shouldn't that being Birmingham Six?

Nice site Zuzana, I bet DzM is so proud all his little puppet masters making it out in the big bad web-site building world.

That would make sense. I’ve taken the info from here. (The very bottom of the page.) Maybe someone who has the original 1988 Tour Programme Biography could shed some light on it – whether the paragraphs didn’t mix up or something.

That's one small step for little puppet masters, one giant leap for the big bad web-site building world.
