I have learned to accept the songs greatness but to me it's not the Pogues without Shane anyways but yes Spider Stacey is on vocals.

I remember seeing the Pogues do "Tuesday Morning" on David Letterman, I believe, and vaguely recall being shocked by how few Pogues I recognized. Does anybody remember who all appeared on the show, and was that all that was left of the Pogues at that time, or were the rest of the band just somewhere else since that song didn't really require them?

Only Spider and roadie Paul McGuinness flew over for that show.

Tuesday Morning

Post Fri Dec 15, 2006 7:19 pm

Umm...just listened to Tuesday Morning..as it was on one of the recent setlists. That song is crap. Lucky me I didn't $buy$ it. It made me imagine bad Rob Lowe & Demi Moore-ishy movies.Who actually want's to hear this live? (or) am I missing something?

Actually I did hear this song live when I saw them live in March 2006 of this year. I think its only of the many highlights from the post-Shane era, and prepare to bashed by us fellow Medusans on your opinion of this song. Your viewpoints on this song are just downright fucking stupid.

Lowlight & bash away. 1 & counting. Never having seen Blown Away, I don't know if I'm that far off in my opinion, thus the... (or) am I missing something? But yeah, a song included on a c.d. with artists the likes of Michael Bolton, Richard Marx, Harry Connick Junior & Gloria Estefan just has to be great.

I'm sorry - are you actually a Pogues fan? Tuesday Morning is a brilliant song. fine lyrics and a great melody, and considering they'd just lost the core member of the group, I think Tuesday Morning showed they could still bash out a top quality tune.

its a fantastic Live song, so if you're going to dish out an opinion of it when you've never heard it live, why bother?

Because throwing out intentionally provocative comments is an easy way to agitate others. Small-minded pricks seem to enjoy stirring up shit and then watching people flail their hands and rant about how clearly wrong the provocateur is.

This poster is entitled to his or her opinion on the song - it's no less valid than yours or mine. Their style in presenting is obviously intended to provoke an agitated response from people shouting "NUH-UH! YOU'RE WRONG! WRONG!" Based on that alone; ignore it. Responding to the trolls just encourages them.

I think it's safe to say that people who take the time to visit this forum are Pogues fans, and I'm not at all interested in a who's the biggest, most loyal or life-longest fan pissing contest. If I have heard it live - I don't recall, I'll have to look that up. But, point being, I didn't enjoy the recorded version I listened to yesterday and happily turned it off. Enjoy the upcoming shows, as will I, just not that tune. You can't discount an opinion just because you don't concur.

To this "guest," yes you are entitled to your own opinion, but remember the old saying opinions are just like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.

Hello Mr. Chevron,
Umm... let's see...

1.crap (a technical description)

VS

1.fucking stupid
2.non-fan
3.small minded prick
4.troll

If one strives to make their point without digressing into name calling or multiple vulgarities then I believe I did.

By the way, I just purchased The Essential Pogues at a local record shop yesterday and very much enjoyed Lorelei. Thanks again!

No, "crap" is an expression of opinion. It is a very long way from a "technical description."

I stand by these terms as accurate descriptions of the quality of your posts in this thread.

But whatever. Arguing semantics about provocative posts is tedious. You win the pissing match. Tuesday Morning is crap (as defined in technical terms by all music schools). I fully endorse that at the upcoming show you attend that you put your fingers in yours ears and yell "La la la la la" for the duration of the song. Enjoy.
