Isn't just about any song good live, if you like the band? Saw the Clash play all of the above songs live and just about came out of my skin. Hell, I'd probably even jump around and pump my fist to Blue Heaven if I was there at the show.

And point taken on RTC. I remember from an interview with Joe and Topper, hearing about how Topper was essentially fooling around between songs while recording Sandanista, and pieced together much of the song. I think the rest of the band just kinda looked at him in amazement and then said, alright lets record it.

Tuesday Morning is mentioned in this months Q Magazine. It Is in a section entitled: NUGGETS: mining rubbish albums for hidden gold.
"With Shane Macgowan out of the band, The Pogues were a shadown of thier former glory"
It describes TM as "the equal of any of the work from their heydey"

I couldnt dissagree more about the bad album but do agree it is a great song!

You couldn't expect Q to get it 100% right could you! Still, at least they picked a good song, even if they did misjudge the album. I used to read Q a lot but it seems to get more and more like a fat version of Smash Hits with every passing month. Just as the NME does, actually. Oops, sorry, wandered off-topic there!

I have now changed my mind, upon further listening, I love Tuesday Morning.

TM & Once Upon A Time were the only Pogues tunes my wife tolerated during the first three of marriage. She fully converted upon realizing any number of Pogues songs wildly entertained our two kids riding in the car.

I love "Tuesday Morning" -- it's actually the only track on that album I ever listen to. (I should probably really go back and listen to the rest of the album sometime, though -- it's been ages since I've heard most of it).

I think I mostly love TM for the banjo.

Wasn't it Single of the Week in the NME? I feel like I remember the reviewer seemed to be extremely surprised that he/she didn't hate it.

Tuesday morning is one of my fave songs. It made me rush and work it out on bass, then guitar, then accordion, then banjo, then get really annoyed that if i wanted the band to play it id have to spend an entire sunday teaching it to them. Luckily ive not seen them since.

Playing it with a band is supposedly great. I tried to work out an arrangement just for guitar and vocals but it doesn´t seem too work. Or maybe I´m just too much of a bad guitar player ...

Tuesday Morning

Post Tue Dec 18, 2007 5:10 pm

The credits read Spider on lead vocals and Darryl and Philip on backing vocals.
But one of the double-tracked lead vocals sounds a lot like Strummer to me - I know Spider's voice isn't disimilar to Joe's anyway, but it sounds awfully like a Spider/Strummer co-lead.
Am I just imagining it?

Yes. But that's OK, that's one of the things music is for. Joe was nowhere near the Waiting For Herb album.

I was chatting to a bloke in the pub pre-gig and he said something similar about the voices. The penny finally dropped for him when I mentioned Strummer's previous band (Clash) who he'd never heard of

How in the holy fuck has he never heard of The Clash. I dare say that gentleman is in dire need for some musical education.
