Great job. Merci mille fois to all involved.
Got my bookset from Sister Ray on Berwick Street. £29 and they had it a full 24 hrs before HMV over the road on Oxford Street. There used be ten record shops on Berwick street, now there's three. Sex still seems to be good business though.

You probably wouldn't get quite so much value for your 29 quid though

There was an old Soho lag on the radio recently. He joined an Italian street gang in the 1950s. At the age of 14 he underwent his initiation. He had to perform the "rites of venus" with the oldest whore in Soho, a notorious pile of wrinkles in her late 60s ...

Silly Question-
For USA fans, can we get the bonus DVD/CD set now via Best Buy or US Aamazon? I looked on their sites, but its a bit unclear to me.
If not, if I order from Amazon.UK...will the DVD play over here?
I know, I'm an eejit (technically speaking).

There is planned to be a US release, but I don't know the dates.
Amazon USA has the release as an import (

You can order from non-US Amazons. the Blu-ray and DVD are region free and will play in US players.

Mine finally crossed the pond Friday and I got to watch it last night....this may be the best reunited Pogues show I've seen, and I've seen a dozen. Everyone is clicking on all cylinders, understanding perhaps that this was being recorded for posterity. Particularly nice to see everyone smiling and enjoying themselves. So glad you included FONY--now that you're cutting back on winter shows this DVD will help us get our fill of holiday Pogues. A very nice touch to include Philip's Thousands as a bonus since he couldn't sing it in Paris. It is so nice to have this DVD now as the other bookend to go along with the Town and Country VHS. Kudos all around.

My boxed set reached Norway on thursday. I have seen the DVD once and Listened to the first five songs of the CD. The quality is amazing and I am impressed by how well Shane sings the songs and how clear the lyrics come across. Much better than the 2001 CD live at Brixton in my opinion. Especially impressed by Shane's version of Thousands are Sailing, which he had a teleprompter for but sang like he had sung it every night since the release of the album. Overall good quality on the DVD and quite the souvenir from a short and fun filled trip to Paris.

Yeah, he's much clearer than the 2001 CD for sure (and significantly more so than '09 in Portland, when I last saw the band), although i love Terry's playing on the 2001 disc, i feel like i'll be listening to this one more over the long run!
