There will be separate DVD, CD and Blu-Ray formats worldwide.

A special limited edition package including CD, DVD and a special booklet with unseen photos, extra DVD material and suchlike, will be avaialable only from the Universal Music website in France (details later.)

Cant Wait For this!!! :) a photo of my pogues neck tattoo got chosen to be in the inlay! one of my proudest achievements to be in a little way a part of the Pogues history forever! Philip, if i brought the inlay to the London show would there be anyway of gettin it signed by the band? you can let me know what pub youll be in before hand if you like! haha :D Cant wait for the gig either way! take care pal!

Send to our office the week before the show. Don't forget to put a return address and don't expect the thing back until January. Would be risky put it into the pre-Christmas mail. Bear in mind that the booklet is integral to the packaging so you will have to send the whole thing (minus the discs). Alternatively, we can just sign a print out of the page your tat is on, if you prefer.

I'm a wee bit concerned that i've ordered the correct item from hmv.com

I've reserved the item that says......

Pogues - Pogues In Paris 30th Anniversary Concert At The Olympia Includes 2dvd It's listed at £27. Is this the limited edition book style version that also includes the cd's?

I've also reserved the Vinyl at £47.00. If only 2000 are being issued worldwide, are HMV guarenteed to get enough to fulfil orders?

Anyone know?

Yes, the second DVD is only in the £27 special edition. That seems to be the easiest way to distinguish them. The complete booklet is also only in that edition. The 2CD, single DVD and Blu-Ray all come with considerably reduced packaging, I understand. Hard to say on the vinyl. My feeling is that all advance orders will be met. I know from experience with comparably limited edition Broadway music items (1000 to 2000 copies) that fewer copies are ordered in advance than you might imagine, though I've never felt comfortable taking the risk of waiting if it's something I really want.

Thanks Philip. I bet you'll be glad when it's in the shops and all these questions from everybody will ease off

I don't want this to read as a negative post,it really isn't....but I am awfully glad the Manchester version of 'Thousands..' is 2004 and not 2006;that was a poor show. If memory serves correctly, there had been a bereavment the day before the gig,a musician the band had worked with?? Mr.C ?

The 2007 Manchester show was at the g-mex,the band knocked £5 off the ticket price by way of apology for the 2006 show, and for anyone who was there,it was totally unforgettable for all the right reasons.

And 2004 was up there too,the year Cait returned on backing vocals and we got 'Yeah Yeah...' and 'A man you don't meet everyday'!!

Anyhooo, really looking forward to the dvd.

What was meant as a brief post has turned into a load of waffling, please accept my apologies.

That would have been the untimely death of the great Tom MacManamon, banjo player in The Popes and former member of The Pogues' crew. He passed away Dec 15, '06.

Now I'm confused. It may be 2006 after all. In any event, it wasn't a terrible gig. Shane was terrible. But I was pretty sure we filmed Manchester on the Cait O'Riordan tour, which was 2004. And I know we filmed New York after that, which was 2005 I think.

The CD version and the CD+DVD box set are now available for preorder on Mr Amazon's UK site. Not the vinyl yet. Be nice to DzM and go via one of the links on Medusa.

I can recall Phillip dedicating 'Thousands Are Sailing' to Tom in 2006 and the previous year ,Phillip dedicated it to George Best, ''to Georgie Boy'' i seemed to recall, which sadly was met with a some booing. At the time i thought ''shame on you'' and whenever i think about that night,it still rankles with me.

Shane was terrible in that gig but I was in a digusting state myself that night. Absolute embaresment and a complete waste of money (and night out) as I cant remember anything about it. I think I fell down the stairs on about three occaisons. . That said I think Shane sang Kitty for the first time since the reunions started on that tour and I remember singing that at the top of my voice (before probably falling down the stairs again)

The booing in the wake of George Best's passing rankled with me too until I momentarily allowed the ungracious thought "consider the source" flicker through my brain. But in fact, there was more applause than heckles.

In this one the dedication is, approximately, "for those of you who came by boat", in recognition that there were a lot of non-UK Deadheads er, Pogueheads present that night. That squares with my own recollections as Pat notes them. But the main thing is I'm wearing my 2004 tour suit and I don't often repeat my wardrobe.

At the same time, I remember thinking, as the gig on the day of Tom's death unfolded, that we would never be able to use most of this footage, given the state of Shane. As "footage" is the operative word in that musing, the case for 2006 is bolstered by that. Hence my confusion.

I would like to apologise for instigating this confusion!! I would also like to apologise to Mr Chevron for slandering the entire band. It was Shane who was awful, maybe understandably in the circumstances discussed. The standard of musicianship was as impeccable as ever. Please forgive that discretion,I should have put more thought into the statement before I wrote.
