Yay - mine arrived yesterday and I'm now home for the weekend. Hoping to go to ground and watch/listen to the DVDs and CDs.

I've watched the DVD twice now (and will watch for a third time before today is over). It is simply fabulous.

I watched the DVD twice last night. The sound on the DVD player was wrong so Jake twiddled with it and it sounded much better the second time round. The only complaint I have is because it was recorded with a digital camera some of the images are a bit jerky and the sound goes off for a second at one point, other than that it's the best vid I've seen for years.

I'm afraid my French isn't up to much as I opted out of it in the 4th year of high school, but I did manage to understand a few things like Mersey Buckets (merci beaucoup) thanks to my wonderful French teacher who thought that it was a good idea to teach us how to tell people in French that we were going to buy a Pomegranate. I mean I'd never even heard of a Pomegranate let alone seen one before French lessons in school. :|

But anyway back on topic. Tonight I will (hopefully) be watching the bonus DVD.

Tin Paddy, Amazing .com is right, its amazing how they don't pay corporation tax in the UK! Oh and the text is in English by the way, which even a Geordie can understand.Great DVD, which begs the question, has there been a live dvd/cd that has been released as quick as this,9 weeks after the gig?

It's a good question. I don't know of any in recent times at any rate. It's a tribute to the determination of Lionel Grosheny and his team at Polydor, Mark Addis and also the sound and film teams that this was achieved. By and large, we the band just said "yes" or "no" at various interludes as the item progressed.

Hm, would be quiet interessting, too ;)
I mean some backstage views, like on the Town & Country club DVD...this was cool, but short, too ;)

About the 9 weeks:
I made a couple of DVDs for Honda - 24 hours Nürburgring, etc etc.

Its absolutely unbelivable to make such great thing in this short period of time. Many cuts, etc etc

Chapeau!

It's better to wait for some 'physical' confirmation than pay for media and be unable to actually watch it...

Thanks a lot for feedback so far, will be waiting for solid proof from someone who already got the discs. Cheers!

Haven't watched it yet - no Blu-Ray player - but here's the tech spec from the packaging:

Blu-Ray 25: Video Encoding: MPEG4 AVC - Audio Encoding 2.0 PCM and 5.1 DTS HD master audio 5.1 Dolby Digital - Stereo Dolby Digital / 16/9 / NTSC all zone / EDV 17

I'm terribly sorry for the late reply - I've been traveling so wasn't able to check the site.
Thank you very much Mr. Chevron and all others who bothered to check it for me! Will order Blu-ray right away.

Cheers!

Got the Box-Set but is there any chance to get the digital booklet, too? Would love to have that but don't want to buy the Paris gig as mp3 also only to get it......

Smoz wrote:I heard that side two of the third disc has two grooves, if your needle falls on the first then you hear the encores as expected but if it hits the second one you get the full twenty minutes of Contact Yourself, Shane's never released Acid House track.

[edit] I think that Firehazard may have been alluding to this in his reply (which means that it is probably true).

No, I was in fact alluding to the legendary track featuring Shane reading the whole of Tarka The Otter, only the very beginning of which is captured on the CD version. But if the vinyl also contains Contact Yourself, I absolutely need to replace my turntable with one that actually works. And soon.
