When I got home tonight it was sat on the couch waiting for me. The postie had managed to deliver it to the guy over the road who works for the Royal Mail. It wasn't the only good thing I got today I also got a newsletter and booklet from the RCLT with an update on the refurbishment of the Royal Court Liverpool and a What's On brochure for next season at the Everymanplayhouse so that's three good things turned up today.

I haven't had a chance to look at it properly but it looks lovely, there are some great pictures in there. As it's admin night tonight (grrr) I am saving it for the weekend.

From listening to the amazon samples, I have the same feeling. It's appears to be really not loud enough, but I haven't listened to the whole CD/DVD, hopefully tomorrow, fingers crossed. And then again I am used to the Live at Brixton 2001 show, where the accordion is really loud and present in the sound mix. Anyway, loud accordion or not, it's going to be massive! :)

The word "vaincu" in some form is definitely in there, I'd say, but after repeated listening, I can't decipher anything more than that either.

It's pigeon French for "Vous etes Wankers" maybe.....you know what he's like?

I think you're right Soulfinger

This will sound totally random, but i swear he says "Tarka The Otter" (a book by Henry Williamson) Just before the first line of BOM :?

What's the reference? Is it because the song is about a river? Or just randomness?

Oh, it will have had a definite logic at the time, now lost to the winds.

Ah, so that's it. I'm not going to divulge how much time I spent yesterday trying to work on earth it could be. Having assumed, of course, that he was still speaking French at that point. The random language-switching is good.

vous êtes vainqueurs, wankers

and for the last number, in french "le dernier numéro"
" c'est le dernier nuremo ... munero ... "
someone :
" c'est la derniére chanson"
(this is the last song)

The vinyl edition has finally arrived. No thanks to Royal Mail for having managed to get it soaking wet on the way, but the contents are saved by the plastic packaging inside. Phew.

And it looks fantastic, well done to everybody involved.

Just one question, as I don't currently have a working turntable: are the contents of the vinyl recording exactly the same as the CD version? I'm guessing so, but have the obsessive need to check...

Yes.

Except for the mystery parallel track in which Shane reads "Tarka the Otter" aloud.
