I heard it on the peace & love reissue and I didn't recognize the vocalist. Does anyone know who is singing?

Great song, though I think his vocals are kinda misplaced on the studiorecording, though it was nothing less than awesome live.

The Chieftains feat. Van Morrison has done the greatest version of this, at least of those I've heard so far.

I appreciate the Pogues version a lot, personally,
the Van Morrison is beautiful but a bit low on energy,
for the other extreme: check former Canadian band MacKeel,
who boasted about their version: Star of County Down as your grandfather never knew it

Then they'll take you to Cloughprior

But you'll stick your head back out and shout

It's wonderful how every member is able to contribute great vocal works, such versatility.

I suspect that's more to do with the efficiency of our janitors combining posts where necessary.
