I'm fine with keeping 1 vote per day too....having people only vote only once won't make enough of a shift either way.
The result is just meaningless, if you followed this game, my family took a 3rd place song and ran the other 2 into the ground. The one vote only would have more meaning with the end result not being to see one song standing but a running tally of which song is the favorite based on as many voters as possible.

I prefer the one vote per day method, for me it is a more interesting way of coming to a conclusion. A one off vote will merely tell us which song each voter likes best at the time of 'voting', whereas gradually whittling down the list gives us more of a chance to compare the tracks. Once it got down to the last half a dozen tracks on RRFM it became a really tough choice to choose between six wonderful tunes. It led me to really listen to each song, to think about what particularly appealed to me about each of them, to read their lyrics and think about how they worked as pieces of stand alone writing and what each one meant to me, to really examine them, sometimes in a new light. It also gives us a chance to talk about the songs that we are comparing.
It may be interesting to consider whether a 'What's your favourite track on RRFM?' thread would have produced a different outcome, I suspect it would (I probably would have gone for Transmetropolitan), however I think that this method produces a better idea of what we all like best and why we like it. Not that this matters a jot, it is all a fairly pointless exercise.
Clash Cadillac's most recent post makes the point that his family's block votes turned around the result for BfCH, which is true, however maybe if we were to try this out on another album there may be a split of opinion in the family Cadillac. I imagine that Jamaica and Seattle have been brought up to think independently for themselves rather than being told what to like.

I think the score is off. Soulfinger's Friday post took one off each- based on his votes for BFCH the score is 113 to 17
