Battle of Brisbane 7
The Auld Triangle 10

Poor Paddy 10
Dingle Regatta 7
Greenland Whale Fisheries 10

I think we will see a lot of love for the likes of Boys From County Hell as this progresses, I think the early stages are not necessarily a good indication of what are the best loved tracks. Shame to see DITGWTDMG dropping this early, it certainly used to be a highlight of the live set way back when.

Somedays I really think DITGWTDMG is the best track on the album. Its like the card cheat on London Calling. Somedays I think it is brilliant, other days I don't seem to want to listen to it much. But now I want to save it if I can.

Very tough call, but I took a point away from Poor Paddy. Love the song (especially live and appreciated hearing it on the tour), just not as much as others.

Argh, as others have already said, hard choices to make. I happen to love the instrumentals, it's a shame to see Dingle Regatta & The Battle of Brisbane drop down. After some amount of deliberation I add one point to Transmetropolitan and subtract one point from Poor Paddy. (Though I really did want to cast my vote for Down in the Ground…it's an integral part of one of my crappy-workday-antidote playlists…wailing & screaming along with the ending of it while driving home is very cathartic.) ;-)

This thread has reminded me how much I love this album. Not that I'd ever forgotten really. It's still hard to pick out tracks for plus or minus voting.

But just because I do think it's a brilliant track, and essential to the album, and a Shane composition to boot... and because today I may well need to do some good old screaming too, so DITGWTDMG gets my plus vote today.
I'd flirted with giving a minus to The Auld Triangle, but it wouldn't seem right to do that to Mr Behan today of all days. So (and because I haven't done it before) I'm afraid I'm going to knock off Dingle Regatta (as it were). Sorry Dingle Regatta, I do love you really.

Can't do it. Like a lot of you, it's different songs on different days. Poor Paddy..., Transmetropolitan, kitty... and i'm feeling motivated to add a point to Down in the Ground... just 'cause i like to root for the underdog (and i think it's a great song. "Ambitious" as Philip says. Successfully so, says i).

Have to try again later.

Ok, today's vote:
Plus one for Greenland Whale Fisheries, because it's March the eighteenth day. And it's a blistering version of the song. And it's a Friday, and I usually end up singing the song on Friday nights.
Minus one for The Auld Triangle, partly because it's had neither ups nor downs at all yet. But I shall probably regret it later.
