Oh Yeah, i forgot about the Straight To Hell RETURNS soundtrack... I really dig it as a whole, but have to point out my favorite is probably Bolero del Perro Listo... and I love Night on bald mountain played on what sounds like the most out of tune piano ever in existence!!!

And lets not forget the atmosphereric instrumentals on the "Straight To Hell" soundtrack, "Rabinga" for instance.

Repeal defo for me. Great whistling tune. Also Young Ned of the Hill. Fantastic range of notes in that song and really fast, hence great fun to play.

1. The Battle of Brisbane
2. Dingle Regatta
3. Repeal of the Licensing Laws
4. Wild Cats of Kilkenny
5. A Pistol For Paddy Garcia
6. Planxty Noel Hill
7. Metropolis
8. The Battle March Medley
9. Shanne Bradley
10. Sketches of Spain
11. Gridlock
12. Maidrin Rua
13. Squid Out of Water
14. The atmospheric instrumentals from the Straight to Hell Soundtrack, i.e. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Rabinga, Harmonicas, Bolero, Big Question Mark, etc.
15. The Junk Theme, from Sid and Nancy

I was wondering, and I'm sure I've asked this before, but for the new visitors to the forum, here it goes, of the 13, which one is your favorite. Mine has to go to either Dingle Regatta, Repeal of the Licensing Laws, and Wild Cats of Kilkenny, but to be honest I adore them all. Mr. Chevron and everyone pick your favorite or the ones that you listen to the most.

I think I like "Pistol for Paddy Garcia" the best. It was the first time in the studio that Pogues creatives like James and Jem were afforded more or less unfettered freedom in the studio to explore the recording medium itself. But "Repeal Of The Licensing Laws" is by some distance the one with the best title.

"Pistol" was engineered by Vic Keary, a former Joe Meek associate who also recorded most of the UK-recorded Trojan singles in the late 60s/early 70s, so he's a bit of a hero. Vic also assisted me on the Lash Lariat mini-album I produced.
