There was some general discussion of this a while back:

The general seems to be that Jem is a 5-string man.

Thats true!
Sometimes Jem imitates Tenor-Style on his 5-String (e.g. Streams Of Whiskey) but i never saw him playing a 4-String Banjo.
He IS a 5-String-Man.

If i'm not very much mistaken, there's some tenor banjo on the "If I should Fall From Grace With God" album, but i believe it's credited to Ron Kavana.

Yes! You can hear some tenor Banjo in the slow parts of "Thousands Are Sailing" for example.
