Why is it that the collaboration The Irish Rover sounds totally good, but then somehow the collaboration from a few years later of Whiskey In The Jar (which sounds like a sure fire winner) somehow sounds lacklustre??

I've always thought that it didn't sound as raw or organic as The Irish Rover. It sounds more.....i dunno........clinical?
Having said that, i do love listening to it. Especially with the volume turned up to 11 :D

Good question, but has the shift key on your keyboard stopped working? Surely at least Eamonn deserves capital letters?

They also did Wild Rover together live but since that one was released earlier as a b-side I guess it was out of the question. (Happy Gollum  )

No need for a space between the last letter of the word and the exclamation mark. Keep the standards up over there, Walshy.

Good question Guest!

Was there a video for "Mountain Dew"? Come to think of it, was there one for "Whiskey in the Jar"? Youtube reveals none (which passes for definitive these days).

We performed "Mountain Dew" on at least two TV shows - Sunday Night At The Gaiety and The Tom O'Connor Show. Only "Jack's Heroes" had a formal video promo. There was none for "The Irish Rover" though the version from The Late Late Show Tribute To The Dubliners was widely circulated with RTE's permission.

That's a great clip. I love the visual contrast between Shane and Ronnie.
