I'd have to say If I Should Fall From Grace With God... when I die, they will play this at my funeral...

"bury me at sea where no murdered ghost can haunt me
If i rock upon the waves no corpse can lie upon me"

I also for some reason really like Night Train to Lorca, especially this line;

"See the moon so till and cold a million stars that shed no warmth
Your nightmares all come out to play in the silver light"

i love london girl - the rocking cajun/rockabilly vibe of the whole thing, and especially the line " if you cut me dont you think i feel, is this body clay, this heart made of steel?

is it my favourite? i dont know, but its certainly one of em'.

After "Fairytale of New York," which of course is in a category of its own, my favorite Pogues song is "White City."

OK, not the Pogues, but the Popes: The Song With No Name is
unbelievably fantastic. Both lyrically and musically.

I'd go for Turkish Song Of The Damned.....the combination of the Eastern & Irish sounds works sooo well. And for simplicity.....Summer in Siam.

Sally MacLennane. Because my 2 and a half year old daughter knows every word!
She also dances to Stream of Whiskey and the irish Rover.

I agree. Great one. The music is definitely and old traditional air. I have a Dubliners song with the same tune.

For me, it changes all the time - lately, I've been listening to Peace and Love a lot (through headphones at a head-splitting volume), and "USA" is my choice at the moment.
