Pogues Fiesta CD Single

Post Fri Nov 04, 2005 12:53 am

Hello, I'm a big Pogues CD collector... I have all their singles except for the Fiesta CD single.

Does someone know where I could get it?

Thanks!

For some strange reason Fiesta is a really hard single to find. It took me a long, long time to find it at all. I finally got a 7" and 12" on vinyl, but have yet to find it on CD.

I think FIESTA was only released as a CD single in France (Off The Track OTT36016) though I may be wrong. The French also released the vinyl version in a special "party" bag, with gatefold cover, confetti, streamers etc, to mark our winning of the Academie Charles Cros Grand Prix Internationale du Disque award, 1988.

Dzm...try Beano's if you are ever in London, or I will take a look for you when I am there....the cd single, right? Another great place to keep up on is http://www.gemm.com which is an online collection of independent record stores....tons and tons of Pogues stuff.

Ah, you and me both, DzM...but we won't stop trying.

But bfg - what is this Beano's of which you speak? Sounds like a place I need to visit. Please enlighten me - I'll be in London soon, ready to shop! :)

Re: Pogues Fiesta CD Single

Do we know if the 3.55 remixed version that appears on Just Look Them In The Eye is the actual single version or if the single contained the 4.13 album version and the remix was an extra on some other format?
I have tried Discogs and 45Worlds to get to the bottom of it but am uncovering no clues
Thanks in advance

The box set version is the actual single version.

Ah great

The labels / record sleeves never tell us it is a remix

True. I used to have the 7" and a mate the 12", both definitely featured the single version. Also probably worth mentioning that there are 2 versions of Sketches of Spain, one short (7") one long (12" and presumably CD), which I don't think is referenced on the covers or labels.
