I'm probably more excited for the remixed albums, P&L and Red Roses For Me.

Anybody bought this yet? Any reviews?
I've only listened to the samples on iTunes, Red Roses doesn't sound too different to me but P&L seems like quite a significant - and improved - remix.
Any comments on the Pogues with Joe disc?

Mines just arrived so just flicked through a the Joe album and P&L. The P&L album is 'different' but will take a few listens before I would comment. Listening to the Joe album I feel you can here they are far better at playing live now than they were but I guess thats 20 years more practice and a lot less alchhol.....

my other thought is I wish the sleeve notes were printed bigger or in a separate booklet. Unless you have 20/20 vision you will need a magnifying glass

So... I took the plunge and bought the box as a download. Like most here I have everything already, but it came to £25 which works out around £8 for each of the three records I was interested in, which I don't think is such a bad deal. Have only managed a couple of listens each but I think P&L is greatly improved - the new mix has given the record a new lease of life and it sounds significantly different as a whole; cleaner, with a much more prominent vocal and some very interesting "new" touches coming to the fore which were presumably previously buried deep in the mix or left out altogether. But bear in mind this is coming from someone that liked P&L to begin with (it was the first Pogues record I got when it was actually released and I hold it in a lot of affection) so if you hated the songs to begin with this is probably not going to change your mind.
RRFM sounds brighter and cleaner too, and the Joe disc is great (though again, I was at that Forum gig so it brings back some happy memories). I quite like hearing Joe's little introductions again - "There's a rat in the house!" before Gartloney Rats for example.

Anyway - definitely worth a look I'd say (and more than likely will be eventually available much more cheaply like the "Just look them..." box set ended up.

Does anybody have a scan or high-res shot of the Strummer album sleeve art? I would appreciate it a whole hell of a lot.

Posting such a link here on the forum would make Mr. DZM into Mr. Grinch, so of course any such communications will be carried out with the use of PMs.

Merry !@#$mas DzM, don't say i never get you anything. :D

Just got back from 3 days away last night, mine was in my mail box. Only listened to a few Strummer tracks so far, but will say:

- The CD cases are quite nice, done like gatefold LPs
- Some of the writing is very small indeed!
- I agree with the earlier comment by Jim that they band is playing much better 20 years later (not that the '91 show is poorly played,it's not at all, but just that the current level of playing is just on a whole other level, which one would indeed expect with an additional 22 years of practice!)
