I got tickets for one of the New York shows as a Christmas gift.

What I'm not keen on is the fact they are general admission floor seats. I'm too old for that. If anyone has GA mezzanine seats that they'd care to swap, let me know.

Going to this show is probably the only good reason to miss the Sopranos.

Since you've been there the last two nights, do you have an idea of what time I should get there in order to get into those seats? I've seen plenty of Pogues shows from the floor, and it was lots of fun, but I'll leave that to you young whipper snappers.

I haven't noticed a mosh-pit as such, but the front house-center and house-right area seems to be very active the last two nights. And of course body/crowd surfing is going on. Dunno why there's not a mosh-pit. I suspect it's just too crowded. Last night (March 17) it was so dense that it was diffi...

thanks for the camera and coatcheck info. i think I'll skip the camera and bring the coat. besides, DZM did such a swell job with his camera, any picture I took would be a waste of disc space.

Has anyone got any idea what time the show is likely to start/finish? The London shows tend to have the Pogues taking the stage just after nine & finishing around eleven. Well, the shows are listed as starting at 8, not sure if there is an opener. If there isn't, it's likely the show will start pre...

First saw them in Detroit at St. Andrew's Hall, July 1986. Mojo Nixon opened for them. Cait was still in the band and Elvis was in tow. Saw them again in Detroit at a place called Todd's in December 1987, Joe Strummer was in tow. It was shortly after they filmed Straight To Hell, if I remember corre...

Here's another lodging link. I just happened to stop by this YMCA yesterday (it's near my office) and I noticed that they have guest rooms. What's extra cool about these places is I'm pretty sure you get use of the facilities while you're there. The YMCA's here are well kept and the rates seem to be...

If in doubt, NEVER rely on a New York cabbie to know your destination, it can only end in tears." The man speaks the truth. Always, always know the cross street of your destination, i.e., if your staying at 234 West 47th St, you need to know that it's between 7th and 8th Avenues and that is what yo...
