Saw "Syriana" the other night. A good, though not great, film. Recommended

Top Secret Code on the 7" Single?

This might sound crazy but here goes - I just got my 7" version of Fairytale and after having played it few times I noticed that there are two phrases scratched into the vinyl: "HEY SOPHIE!" and "JEZ MASTERROOM." It doesn't effect the play of the record because it's scratched into the segement of th...

The tabs/chords for these song (as well as most other Pogues songs) are easily found online, using Google. Here's Sea Shanty - Stolen from some tab site: ***SEA SHANTY - by Shane MacGowan from the albums "Red Roses For Me" Sea Shanty - as perfomed by The Pogues C Dear dirty London in the pouring rai...

Yeah it's clearly not present in the rendition sung by Mr. Ranken. What may have happened is one website offered up the lyrics with the offending word and everyone else seems to have copy and pasted (including the Medusa?) into their own sites. I like it though. Maybe I'll start incorporating it int...

Deludhering

What does this word mean?

It's from the last verse in "Star of the County Down"

...deludhering lies...?

Oh Sheva. I'm so happy for you but also exceedingly jealous. While reading your story there wasn't a person in the world who could wipe the smile of my face. You look ecstatic in the picture, though it must be said, Mr. Chevron looks a bit shell-shocked. It sounds like you had a wonderful trip - goo...

Re: Playing the Music

Thanks for the responses, especially Mr. Chevron! There us no copyright infringement as long as you don't offer it for sale, something we could do without at a time when he have a contract out on the "Pop Idol" winner. Not to worry, you'll have nothing but support from me! But in effort to nail the ...

Playing the Music

First off, if one of the moderators thinks this should be in a different forum feel don't think twice about moving it. Ok. I play the button accordion, Irish trad, mostly but I have recently been playing around with some of the Pogues's songs on the old squeezebox. First I got "Kitty" then the intro...

I'm glad to see some other people have been flumoxed by this. This rendition of the Sally Gardens (on the Tillburg boot) is loaded with gems from Shane. My favorite is when he announces who's just played the trad tune:

Shane wrote:"Mick Fucking Kerry Fuckface on the accordion"

heh.

Sally Gardens

When Shane and the Popes played the Sally Gardens they tacked a trad. tune on at the end. I've asked this before but can't remember where, when or if it was answer but: Does anyone know what that trad. tune is?

Unrelated: wasn't this forum supposed to be locked (as proclaimed on the Forum Index blurb)?
