Well, I saw them a few years ago at the Astoria expecting a geeky but interesting duo. I guess they used be somewhat cool but now they seem rather pathetic...

I saw Sparklehorse last monday. Linkous played with a duo called the Dead Texan, and some tunes suffered from being drenched in the Dead Texan's synth sound. But overall a very nice gig with some beautiful visuals.
I just wish I could have caught Wilco on this tour.

Thank you, Philip, for your comment a few weeks back concerning McDonagh. I've found plenty of material concerning Irish drama etc which I hope will provide me with enough insight to make up for the lack of good literature on McDonagh (that's available here). I don't any of Osborne's plays except Lo...

I read somewhere, though I can't remember where , that it was, in fact, Shane who grew tired of the Irish music, and wanted to head off in new directions. How this then correlates with his career with The Popes, though, I have no idea. I think Shane's Snake record sounds less "Irish" than...

Re: Jakpot concert I arrived at the venue to find I was a little bit early. The concert's today. Best way to get a place at the front. Needless to say - I couldn't make it on Sunday :? Which means that I haven't been to a gig since the Villains in October (or was it November). This is gettin...

I'm doing a paper on sociolinguistics in literary texts for university and I'd like to concentrate on Martin McDonagh's works. I know there are some connaisseurs of McDonagh's here (Mr C?) who might know about some worthwhile articles etc. on him. It would be great if you could point me in the right...

I'm seeing Manchester band The Jakpot tonight. Could be one firehazard's familiar with?

I'm afraid I won't be able catch Wilco in May but Sparklehorse have announced a Vienna date, which makes up for not seeing Wilco.
