Re: concert schedule

Seen Stones Roses, that were inaudible apart from the last 30 minutes, Brooos who got the plug pulled after a thrilling 3 hours, hoping for an uninterupted, loud, Blur/New Order/Specials gig!

Re: What Song are you listening to?

'I'm gonna make you love me' - Diana Ross & The Supremes & The Temptations - doesn't get much better than that.

Re: Who the hell is the second singer of "old" Pogues?

'I'm stranded on the Vortex floor, my head's been kicked in and blood's started to pour'.

Was Weller up from Woking that night?

Re: What Album Have You Just Bought?

After watching 'Oil City Confidential' the other night, thought I should catch up on the sound of the Thames delta - Dr Feelgood - Stupidity Dr Feelgood - Down By The Jetty I knew that McLaren took the Pistols to see them back in the day, and Joe Strummer chose the same guitar as Wilko Johnson, but ...

Re: concert schedule

Lucky enough to get a couple of tickets for Tom Jones at Union Chapel next Wednesday. Saw Spiritualized there a couple of years ago - great venue - a church - for gospel stuff.

Brixton 18th

Wonderful stuff last night, everyone seems to be having a great time onstage, Shane has got his shit together just now, and respect to Spider for rocking the 'Das Boot' look. We all know the Pogues are so much more than Shane, but knowing he was going to be spot-on did seem to take a bit of the pres...

Re: concert schedule

The ever-dependable Morrissey on Sunday. Fingers crossed he'll make it after a tour littered with cancellations thus far.

Plus just bought tickets for Brian Wilson, playing a 'greatest hits' show at the Roundhouse. The phrase 'once in a lifetime' may be appropriate!

Re: R.I.P.s

Just seen that ex-NME writer Steven Wells has died. For me, the highlight of any issue of NME was the Steven Wells interview. Always hilarious, challenging, over-the-top stuff. He stood apart from the others writers, I thought. Even if they were a group you had no interest in, you knew that Wells w...
